Is it really free?

Yes. The free plan includes 5 files in total — syllabi included — with summaries, quizzes, flashcards, and a taste of the AI tutor. No card required. The count is cumulative, so it doesn't reset each month.

What files can I upload?

PDF, PPTX, DOCX, and images (photos of notes, scans) are supported — and YouTube links become study materials via transcript extraction.

Can I record my lectures?

Yes. Start recording when class begins and you'll watch speech turn into text live; when it ends, the transcript is saved as a file in that course and flows straight into summaries and quizzes. All recordings live on the Recordings screen so you can find past classes. Please check your school's and instructor's policy on recording lectures first.

Does it handle STEM materials with formulas?

Yes. LaTeX formulas render cleanly, and scanned or handwritten pages are read with vision OCR.

What language are summaries and quizzes in?

English. Summaries, quizzes, and the AI tutor all read and answer in English, and they follow the wording of whatever material you upload.

What happens to my uploaded files?

What if an exam date changes mid-semester?

Re-upload the updated syllabus — Semestree finds what changed and proposes it. Only approved changes touch your calendar.

How accurate is the timetable photo?

You see what we read before anything is saved, and you can fix it right there. Reading times off an image can be a few minutes off on the end time, so nothing is saved automatically — there's always a confirm step. Timetable app screenshots, portal captures, and photos of paper timetables all work.
